The Jack Richards Novices’ Handicap Chase, officially the Golden Miller Novices’ Chase, was run as a handicap for the first time in 2025.
Previously a Grade 1 level-weights race from 2011–2024—known successively as the Jewson, JLT, Marsh, and Turners Novices’ Chase—its new format revives a Festival novice handicap chase last seen with the Centenary Novices’ Handicap Chase (2005–2020).
